I'm having the hardest time sleeping normal hours. I stay up so late, (like past 6am today,) and when I do that I only sleep till around noon. I just don't get it, I'll do that for days on end, but I'm still not tired enough to go to bed at midnight instead of staying up alone all night. I miss the internet. The high-speed internet at least. Dial up. Man, it's been like 6 years since I've been stuck with dial up like this. I found some interesting stuff online today, 900mhz wireless equipment that can get through trees. It's not that expensive. I'm hopeful again that I can get a link set up to a place that *can* get broadband (like my parents house.) Maybe someday I/we will move back into the city, but with things the way they are now I can't imagine having to make real rent anytime soon. I'd like to live someplace that is scooter/bike/moped friendly. Out here the roads are narrow and there is no shoulder, and there are hills everywhere. I like the hills for biking, and they're pretty, but cars can't see you until they're on top of you. I would sure miss the shop if we moved.
Sid is diving into the couch behind me. She got a shower today and is a clean fluffy kitten again.
I am glad I thought to put up my Star Trek ornaments on the tree this year. I was digging thru my closet at my parents house looking for an old camera when I remembered them. I have quite a pile of them saved up. Aaron pretended to hate them, but ultimately he allowed it. The talking ones all talk at the same time when the timer turns the tree on. My favorite to hear is the Borg cube, it says something like "We are the Borg, have a happy holiday, resistance is futile."
The camera I was looking for is an Olympus XA that I found at a garage sale years ago. I thought it was a nifty little thing but there was something wrong with it so it ended up buried with the rest of my old cameras. I hadn't thought about it in forever, and then I saw Mamimi snapping away with one in FLCL. It came back like nothing and I was sure that it was the same one she uses. (She uses two, a bigger SLR, and this one.) It's so nerdy but I was really excited that I had one. Or thought that I did anyway- I was worried for a minute that I'd pitched it for being broken (not likely I know.)
It's actually a sweet little camera, it's tiny, 35mm, has a detachable flash and a nice fast lens. Maybe I'll get it fixed.
I think I'm going to put a friends only sticky up. As usual I haven't been writing much, but I've been writing more than it looks like if you can only see my last unrestricted entry, and it's a survey from months ago. I've also been writing lots more on my own.
Also, I'd like to have less social weight. Amy said she liked that term.
Myspace is so bad. I just can't get into it.
